 My Fresh Table

"It was an amazing meal that had my family astounded by the taste."-AHIA MFT parent

Healthy Lifestyle

My FRESH Table + My WONDER Kids
  • Our 4 week cooking course introduces families to healthier food options, budgeting, reading and understanding nutrition labels, and meal prep.
  • Each session 8 families join together, every other week, for safe in-person and virtual participation.

During class each registered family receives groceries for 2 meals along with their personalized recipe binder, and access to our online community.
Every other weeknight we gather to prepare new meals that are affordable and
delectable, dishes they feel confident and proud to add to their personal favorite list.  In-person participants are encouraged to bring their children for our child version of My Fresh Table.

Our  children's fresh table program runs in conjunction with My Fresh Table. During the 2-hour class the children will learn about healthy nutrition in a fun engaging way with an activity. They are served a healthy snack and take an additional snack home.

Class thoughts

It's important we introduce families to a wide array of foods they'd traditionally not try, paired with recipes and styles of preparation they're able to progress to with confidence. Vegetables like rutabaga, spaghetti squash, and celery root are incredibly budget friendly and easy to prepare but are often overlooked due to a lack of knowledge within our community. A House In Austin takes on the financial risk, so parents will learn to value these ingredients and implement them into their grocery budget.

"Don't be afraid to try new things! Those rutabagas were delicious!"- AHIA MFT participant
"I learned a new way to make Rutabagas, although Rutabagas are something that I wouldn’t normally eat"- AHIA MFT participant
