Social Media & Engagement Volunteer
A House in Austin is looking for a volunteer to help bring our work to life online. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys storytelling, has an eye for visuals, and understands how consistent, engaging content helps build community.
The Social Media & Engagement Volunteer will help us share the everyday moments, programs, and impact happening at the House while making sure our online spaces stay active, welcoming, and responsive.

Time Commitment
Flexible, but ideally a few hours each week to create, schedule, and monitor posts.

Social media is often the first place families, volunteers, and supporters learn about A House in Austin. This role helps make sure our story is seen, understood, and shared.

The Social Media & Engagement Volunteer will help us share the everyday moments, programs, and impact happening at the House while making sure our online spaces stay active, welcoming, and responsive.
Responsibilities
- Create visual, engaging social media content based on program updates, events, and stories from the House
- Design graphics and simple visuals using Canva
- Schedule and post content regularly (daily or near-daily posting goal)
- Monitor comments and messages and respond in a timely, friendly manner
- Help keep our pages active, organized, and aligned with our voice and mission
- Work with staff to plan content themes and highlight upcoming programs, events, and community stories
What We’re Looking For
- Comfort using social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
- Experience creating and posting content consistently
- Basic experience with Canva or similar design tools
- A strong eye for storytelling and visuals
- Reliability and good communication
- Someone who enjoys community work and believes in the mission of supporting families
