A House in Austin is a homegrown nonprofit operating in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. Through parent-child music classes, parent support groups, and a home visiting program, A House in Austin is empowering families. Our vision is of a community where all children and families have equal access to experiences and opportunity, leading to empowered parents and emotionally and physically healthy children and families. Operations Manager

Family Support Specialist

Hours: Part-time, Hybrid
​Salary: $30 - 40 hourly rate depending on education and experience.

Leadership

In collaboration with Co-Executive Directors
• Implement and monitor the organizational strategic plan and develop goals and strategies that address prioritized issues related to the mission of A House In Austin.

Administration
•Manage human, financial, and information resources in an integrated and strategic manner
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of required reports for any applicable state, federal agencies, and others.

Program Management
• Coordinate with Co- Executive Directors for best practices and execution of programming goals including contract work with partner organizations, data management, and facility scheduling.

Financial Management
• Develop annual operations and program budget, in conjunction with the Internal Committee and Board Treasurer and track progress.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in the business of early childhood education, family services, social work and/or community development.
• Available for occasional evening and/or weekend events.
• Hourly rate with weekly schedule to be mutually agreed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in the non-profit sectors
• Bachelor or master’s degree
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
• Demonstrated leadership ability and excellence in organizational management
• Culturally competent: associates effectively with people from different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, and identities. Able to create an environment of understanding and acceptance.
• Able to maintain confidentiality, act diplomatically, and handle difficult situations.
• Adept at developing and improving processes; proficient in project management.
• Proactive, energetic, innovative.
• Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present to colleagues, Board and community donors and stakeholders.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
• Experience in supporting philanthropic development.
• Experience using third party platform software such as Little Green Light, ADP, QuickBooks, or other management software.


A House in Austin (AHIA) is hiring a part- time Family Support Specialist to service in our current programs and provide home visiting/parent support services.

Hours: Part-time 15-20 hours a week. Required to work 3 to 4 days a week and one to two evenings.

Salary: $18-$20 hourly rate depending on education and experience

Responsibilities and Duties
● Will provide home visiting and families support services to a caseload of 5-10 families.
● Will help with My Wonder Kids programming at least one day of the week.
● Will help with special events and services.
● Will provide data management on services provided.
● Will help with donation collection and delivery.
● Will help with community resources.


Qualifications:
● Preferred Associate or Bachelor's degree in early childhood, education, social worker, or public
health, but open to those with experience.
● Have some experience with working children and families.
● Have a working vehicle.
● Parents as Teachers training/or being willing to be trained upon hire.
● Basic computer skills.
● Can pass a DCFS background check.

Marketing assistant

Temporary
Lead Teacher

Do you love aesthetically pleasing Instagram feeds, info graphics, algorithm strategy, relatable reels/tik toks and enjoy creating content? Are you a social media enthusiast? Do you know what it takes to go viral? We need you on our team!

Salary: $16-$18 hourly

Roles and Responsibilities (approx. 15-20 hours per week)
  • Research content ideas to find the most relevant ones for our target audience
  • Work with the Co-Executive Director to define Social Media strategy
  • Take ownership of content creation for TikTok
  • Create weekly content for other social media platforms
  • Monitor content performance
  • Effectively communicate with team members and reports directly to Co-Executive Director
  • Minimum Requirements for this Position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative and detail-oriented
  • Social media experience
  • Must be able to meet all deadlines
  • Basic photo editing, video editing, or graphic design experience
  • Experience working in Canva (preferred)

A House In Austin, NFP (AHIA) is hiring a part-time short term Teacher for our
My Wonder Kids Program and Musikgarten classes. Our Lead teacher is having a baby! We are looking for someone to fill in while she is out.

Responsibilities and Duties
 Lead Teacher for MyWonder Kids Program
 Responsible for room set up room and clean up
 Responsible for staff and volunteers during the MyWonder Kids Program
 Provide support and help with My Fresh Table: Kid Edition
 Work with outside organizations to help coordinate other services
Qualifications
 Must have at least an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or Education or
 Have at least one year of experience working with children.


Pay Range/Hours

$18-20 per hour depending on education and experience

15-20 hours per week. Required to work 3 days a week primarily evening and afternoon hours expect on Thursday.
