PARENT CAFE (with yoga) + THE PARENT CHAT HOUR (free childcare provided!)
9:30 AM to Noon on Thursday Mornings
This time is reserved for parents and caregivers to recharge and connect with other local parents. Yoga and breakfast is provided during Parent Café followed by parenting discussions and learning during The Parent Chat Hour. We provide free childcare, and your child will play, create art, listen to stories, and eat a snack during this time.
What Parents are saying about The Parent Chat Hour
"I've learned that as long as you're patient with your child, your child will be patient. They learn what you learn."
"I've learned how important communication with my child affects his behavior and how important it is to spend time with your children."
"I've learned the value of one-on-one contact and communication with my children."
"I've learned that the way you was brought up and raised can affect how you raise your kids."
"I've learning singing with my child is a great way to communicated, learn new things like words. I, too, as a new mom am learning to communicate very well with my child with the parenting classes."
"I've learned that there are different ways of disciplining a child other than yelling."
Parent Cafe (9:30-10:45 AM every Thursday) with yoga class offered
Every parent needs time to recharge. Every Thursday morning, before The Parent Chat Hour, we're offering one hour of free childcare so parents can eat breakfast in peace, find relaxation during the yoga class, drink coffee and talk with a friend, or catch up on online errands. Parents participate in the Parent Chat Hour after Parent Cafe.
The Parent Chat Hour (10:45 AM - Noon every Thursday)
The Parent Chat Hour has been a success and will continue to be an important component of our programming this fall. Parent Chat is an hour for parents and caregivers to have guided discussions about parenting topics they want to explore further together. The discussions are led by our very own Boppin' music parent, Rebekah Martin. Becky has been a committed member of the Boppin' Babies & Toddlers Class since the spring 2016, and she holds a degree in social work. She has experience with family counseling and individual counseling and specializes in trauma. Learning with others is her passion. The children are engaged in language-rich and imaginative play activities with volunteers during the Parent Chat Hour.
