We’re Turning 5 — Come Celebrate With Us!


A House In Austin was founded in 2016 with a bold mission: to support and uplift families on Chicago’s West Side. After years of hard work, vision, and community love, we finally moved into our big blue house on the corner of Race and Pine in August 2020.

Thanks to the dedication of the Hilgarts, our Founding 100, families like the Barnetts, Mission Makers, local churches, and generous partners like Neuberger Berman, that dream became a reality.

Since then, we’ve:
  •  Annually served over 50 families with children ages 0–5 through holistic programming and homevisiting
  •  Launched signature programs like My Fresh Table and My Wonder Kids
  •  Partnered to expand mental health, literacy, and parenting support

Now it’s time to celebrate five years in the house—and you’re invited! Join us for an evening of food, music, and community as we honor the people and the purpose behind this beautiful space.
